A detailed skin assessment is fundamentally important before any skin treatment can be discussed with a patient. The success of any subsequent treatment is based upon the information gathered from this assessment.
We also use the Visia Skin Analysis system from Canfield to help us identify the extent of pre-existing skin damage.
By inspecting the skin and documenting our findings we build up a detailed profile of the patient’s skin that’s vital before any treatment is considered.
The assessment includes a patient’s own skin history which can include allergies, history of skin problems including dryness, rashes, and changes in skin pigmentation or colour. We also discuss skin products such as lotions, soaps, shampoos etc.
Once the information has been gathered during the skin assessment, one of our doctors or nurses will recommend possible solutions which can help you achieve your personal goals.
