Using the body’s own living cells to rejuvenate the skin isn't a new science, but new techniques such as Vavelta are now taking skin rejuvenation to an entirely new level.
Traditional dermal fillers replace lost volume in lines and wrinkles, (lasting for up to six months), where as Vavelta (Cell therapy) involves transplanting live healthy Fibroblasts into the skin, promoting the production of collagen and improving structure.
Vavelta works by injecting Fibroblasts, (which are the main cells found in the dermal layer), directly into the desired area. This is an effective treatment for burns, acne, sun damaged skin and even the rejuvenation of the ageing skin.
The results are gentle and delicate, targeting only the desired area of treatment. Using a tiny needle, a minimally invasive injection into the dermis by one of our qualified doctors allows the Fibroblast cells to replace old or impaired collagen in the scars with new healthy collagen.
Over time and once established, the structure of the skin is improved giving a more youthful appearance. The treatment usually requires only one single session lasting between 2 to 3 hours with discomfort described as minimal.
As with any treatment, the risk of possible side effects must be taken into consideration. Following treatment, swelling and redness may require a day or two off work to allow recovery. It’s also important to remember the cells ability to revive changes can vary in each individual patient.
In some patients the production of collagen may take slightly longer, although once achieved the results offer a natural healthier looking skin.
The Aesthetic Beauty Centre is one of the few designated specialist centres that are able to offer the services of highly trained physicians in the UK. The Cells used in Valvelta are young healthy cells from a donor source.
The laboratory where they are grown and thoroughly tested is licensed by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK. The manufacturer is Intercytex, a British company who specialise in skin repair and hair regeneration.
Qualified doctors/nurses will discuss the procedure before any treatment, explaining any possible side effects.
