HIFU Rejuvenation- Tightening of Face and Body
Home » Face » Face Treatments »
Mankind’s quest for staying young is as old as humanity itself and with every bygone era, there has been invention after invention focussed on achieving the eternal fountain of youth. Yet, no matter how hard we might try, we cannot seem to stop ageing but we can certainly keep turning to the latest innovations in aesthetic medicine, for a little helping hand.
Wrinkles and fine lines will always show up eventually due to the loss of collagen and elastin which is the key structural support for the skin. Skin laxity, as its known, or simply ‘sagging skin’ also affects the eye areas making you look more tired and can distort the contours around the neck and chin areas.
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a relatively new technology that is used for tightening the face and the body. It’s a precise procedure that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound waves to heat and destroy ageing tissue that has covered the face and skin.
In fact, one of the earliest uses of HIFU has been as a treatment for prostate cancer.
HIFU is specially designed for those who wish to achieve the results of a ‘facelift’ and is a non-invasive aesthetic procedure.
The basic concept of HIFU principle- is that it induces a vibration in the molecules of the targeted area on the face/body which results in thermal energy, caused by the friction, to penetrate the skin
How does it work?
For the Face-
HIFU improves facial wrinkles (face, neck and chin) by triggering new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to rise forth, thus giving a visible facelift effect. A deeper treatment where the skin layers meet the muscles, HIFU triggers muscle contractions, which begins to reduce the wrinkles on the face and starts to give a toning effect.
For the Body-
It acts on the fat area at a depth of 13mm: the energy produced by the ultrasound produces a breaking down of fat cells with the result of a decrease of the fat tissue. When the fat cells are destroyed they won’t regenerate so the result is to be considered permanent, and ideal for tricky areas like the stomach, thighs and upper arms which are mostly the problematic areas with ageing.
Application areas are-
Drooping, especially around the mouth
Loose neck folds
Thin, crepey skin
Fine lines and wrinkles
Minor redness and dryness
Uneven skin tone or texture
Usually, slight redness and/or swelling post-treatment is seen on the treated area and one might feel some tingling. These will disappear within hours. While the results will not be as dramatic as with surgical facelifts, HIFU skin tightening is clinically proven to be safe, with natural and gradual effects.
Our team is fully trained to use the HIFU system, an extremely precise medical procedure which targets several layers of the skin and it is 100% safe with natural rejuvenation effects.
