Profhilo®

Your face is the first thing that people notice about you. But when your appearance no longer reflects the way you feel on the inside, it may be time for a change.

In time, your skin loses it's full, firm, youthful appearance. This is the result of the natural ageing process. Over time, your skin becomes thinner or loses its natural elasticity. As a result, it becomes loose and starts to wrinkle

The prospect of treating sagging skin and wrinkles without long incisions and downtime, i.e. with no recovery period, has great appeal to the majority of patients who are looking for subtle improvements or are not ready for a traditional facelift. The new and effective anti-ageing skin care beauty treatment for younger looking skin is Profhilo®.

Profhilo® (Skin stimulator) counteracts skin laxity via reconstructing action of collagen and elastin fibres of the dermal matrix. It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and is being marketed as being useful in the treatment of skin laxity.

The unique characteristics of remodelling skin laxity is easily obtained in only two sessions at our clinic, with a one-month interval. Profhilo is used for the treatment of skin laxity of the face, neck, decollete and hands. This breaking new technology does miracles for your saggy skin. This anti-ageing treatment is almost painless.

Procedure -

Before making the injections with an ultra-fine needle, your surgeon will apply a numbing cream to the area, ensuring any pain is kept to a minimum. In some cases a local anaesthetic is used. The procedure takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. It is injected in the superficial subcutaneous layer. The technique used for Profhilo injections is known as BIO AESTHETIC POINTS (BAP). In this technique, the 5 Points injection site are marked for each side of the face and then Prophilo is carefully injected at these sites. This BAP technique is created for the lower third of the face due to its predisposition to dermal atrophy caused by the aging process. It promotes the production of collagen and elastin underneath the skin which gives the skin a more youthful texture.

Risk and complications -

Profhilo is safe when performed by an experienced doctor. The risk/complications are rare by these injections which may include the followings:

  • The common risks are: temporary redness or bruising, swelling, pain.

  • The rare risks are: infection, skin discolouration, bumps and nodules.

Downtime and recovery -

Profhilo causes very minimal sensation and discomfort during the procedure. It has no downtime and recovery period because it is also a non-surgical procedure like other fillers. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment, however you should try to avoid the sun for the rest of the day and also it is advisable to avoid massaging the treated areas, or exercise and sauna.

Result -

Patients can expect increased firmness, smoothness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of the skin by improving laxity of the tissue. Prophilo can be used on the hands, neck and under your eyes. Results can be seen between 1 week to 1 month and the effect lasts up to six months. Successful results depend on health or age of the skin, quality of product used as well as the correct placement of the product. To get the desirable results, the treatment should be performed with one month interval, depending on the level of ageing.  If the procedure is not repeated, the skin will gradually return to its pre-treatment condition.Touch-ups and maintenance treatments can then be prescribed by your doctor according to your body’s response to the treatment.
