Is Earlobe Repair Right For Me?
Stretched earlobe repair procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic and takes around 20-30 minutes per surgery. The technique for widely dilated earlobes involves removing excess tissue and using very fine stitches both internally and externally of the remaining tissue to reshape and reform to normal appearance. Split earlobe repair with rotation flap uses a technique that allows patients to safely wear earrings two weeks after the initial procedure instead of a possible six months with the more common standardized procedure; In this case the procedure takes around 30 to 40 minutes per earlobe.
Post Surgery Results
After your earlobe surgery there will be small scarring of the ears which although red, will fade to a pale silvery hue. After 4 to 6 months the earlobe should look almost completely normal without signs of previous piercings. We recommend the ears can then be re-pierced approximately 6 months after the initial procedure.
