Liposculpture

Like art, beauty is the celebration of shapes, forms and expression. It's the unity of these qualities that creates the true masterpiece. It's also their diversity that enriches the experience of the beholder. Suggestive lines, unique shapes, balance and proportion, all combine to reflect your life, emotion and energy.

Liposculpture

Which areas can be treated?

Liposculpture can benefit almost all areas where fat accumulates. The most common areas include; double chins, arms, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hips, flanks or "love handles" knees, and the waist.

How long do the benefits last?

Although each client is unique, a person who has liposculpture at age 40 may well have the benefits for more than half his/her life when combined with exercise and a sensible diet. Liposculpture can improve appearance and hence increase your self-esteem.

What are the possible complications?

Liposculpture is a very safe outpatient procedure with few risk factors. Approximately two to three hours are required to perform the procedure. Patients are encouraged to remain active immediately following the procedure.

What is Liposculpture?

Also known as tumescent liposuction, Liposculpture differs considerably from conventional liposuction. It is safer and far less traumatising to the body because it employs miniaturized instruments for extraction and requires only local anaesthetic. Liposculpture is for those who want to achieve a streamlined, more flattering appearance.

The concept of Liposculpture is a simple one. It improves body contour by permanently removing fat deposits between the skin and muscle. Liposculpture has evolved from merely removing bulges to transforming a patient's entire figure. An understanding of proportion and the ability to safely remove enough fat to change the lines and symmetry of the body, have made Liposculpture an effective procedure for clients that have had limited success with diet and exercise programmes.

Are you happy with the shape of your body?

Do you want to lose that 'double chin' and have a more streamlined jaw line? Are you an overweight person with fatty areas out of proportion to your body? If you can identify with any of the conditions above or answer yes to any of the questions, you may benefit from this new procedure Liposculpture.

Liposculpture is not an alternative to weight loss, nor will cellulite and waffled skin be cured by this technique. The best candidates are people who are close to their ideal weight but who have stubborn fatty deposits in localised areas of their bodies. What are the benefits of

Liposculpture versus Liposuction?

Benefits of Liposculpture include vastly reduced bruising, minimal blood loss and reduced pain, both during and after the procedure. In addition, a more refined result is achievable than with conventional liposuction, since the patient can stand or kneel as the procedure is performed. The figure can be sculptured more evenly and skillfully to create a superior result, providing a smoother appearance and better skin retraction.

What is the procedure?

Liposculpture is performed using a thin, hollow instrument (typically 2mm-3mm in diameter) called a cannula. The cannula is inserted through a tiny incision placed in an inconspicuous location near the area to be treated. Unwanted fat deposits are removed through the cannula using a vacuum, with micro-cannulas (typically 0.5mm-1.5mm in diameter) used to provide more precise sculpting. Tumescent fluid is used during the procedure to liquify the fat, enabling it to flow through even the smallest cannula. This method of fat removal is surprisingly easy and permanent. It usually causes minimal bleeding, swelling and bruising.

What is the recovery time?

Patients can enjoy a reduced recovery time and usually return to work within a few days. Most normal activities can be resumed within a week. Strenuous exercise and activities such as running should not be carried out for about three weeks following the procedure.

Will I need to have excess skin removed?

Impressively there is no need to remove any excess skin following treatment. The skin is an organ which has elasticity and in the majority of cases shrinks to accommodate the new body contour. Liposculpture removes fat cells permanently. With any future weight gain, new fat will generally not return to treated areas.

The fat removed during the procedure can be used immediately or saved for a later time to fill in wrinkles on the face, enhance lips or even fill in thin vein covered hands. The re-introduction of stored fat can also be carried out as an independent procedure at a later date. This procedure is called lipofilling or lipotransfer.
