ENLARGED PORES
Pores are a fact of life and although not always visible we all still have them. Enlarged pores are a common concern for many women of all ages and skins types, especially for those with an oily skin. Pores have a very important role to play in skin physiology. They allow the skins own oils to reach the surface, along with protecting the skin from the environment and dehydration.
As we age, our pores start to enlarge due to the diminishment of collagen, consequently the ducts begin to compress too. Large pores become a breeding ground for many acne and other skin complaints.
Thankfully, there are now several treatments available to help minimize their appearance and smooth out your complextion. Microdermabrasion, TCA peel, Fraxel, Smartxide and lasers are all effective in helping in the reduction of enlarged large pores, while TCA peels work better for smaller pores.
Treatments, which help stimulate collagen, also help keep elasticity in the skin, which is healthy and also allows oil to flow more efficiently.
