Eczema / Dermatitis

Eczema is a very common condition which in some form, at some time, affects more than half the population. Eczema is simply an inflammation of the skin, which can have many causes. We know there are several different causes of eczema, several of which are inherited, but regardless of the cause, the changes that occur in the skin are very similar.

Atopic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis are sources of much discomfort and frustration to millions of patients and their doctors worldwide. Treating eczema and dermatitis with the BClear® system can bring relief to most patients, especially children and young adults who suffer from these skin conditions.

The Aesthetic Beauty Centre was the first U.K. provider of BClear®. The targeted PhotoClearing System that provides a new, unique therapy for the treatment of Atopic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis.

Combining the proven benefits of UVB therapy with the latest advances in targeted light technology, the BClear® system creates a treatment option for patients who previously have not received satisfactory results.

Treatment of Eczema

There are two effective anti-inflammatory treatments:

Cortisone Treatment:
This is usually applied to the skin in the form of lotions, creams or ointments. Cortisone in the form of a compound called prednisone can also be taken orally. Cortisone treatments have numerous associated side effects from both short term and prolonged usage.

Ultraviolet Treatment (Conventionally in the form of PUVA)
Ultraviolet B light has also been used in the treatment of eczema but in the past has been less effective than PUVA therapy. Narrow-band UVB phototherapy, utilised in the BClear® laser PhotoClearing treatment for eczema is more effective and may clear many patients with eczema.

Advantages of BClear® Targeted PhotoClearing System Over Existing Treatment Options.

Fewer treatments required than conventional UV treatments, such as PUVA. Targeted computerised fibre optic delivery system, delivers UVB energy only to affected area, thus virtually eliminating exposure to surrounding skin tissue. BClear® PhotoClearing is a gentle treatment with little or no associated side effects, thus providing a treatment option for young children and young adults. No skin exposure to cortisone treatments and associated side effects from both short term and long term use.

The BClear® system offers a safe treatment option with generally very limited side-effects.

The innovative technology of the BClear® system represents a significant breakthrough in that it takes existing science to the next level by combining the benefits of highly efficacious UVB light therapy with the latest advances in fiber-optic delivered light technology.

The computerised BClear® system delivers precisely targeted light through a fiber-optic cable, in significantly higher doses than those used in traditional UVB light therapy. This allows patients to experience successful results in fewer treatment sessions.

The precision dosimetry and small beam output of the BClear® system also allows individually customised treatments that safely and effectively treat all body surface locations and skin types (I-VI). The versatile, multi-application capabilities of the BClear® system, include the treatment of atopic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis
