Age spots are a collection of pigments caused by over exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays resulting in an abnormal concentration of melanin in the skin. They can also be the result of bruising, and most common in men and women over the age of 55. Damage can also be caused when the body is unable to fight the free radicals in the environment. This happens when a person does not consume enough antioxidants in their diet.

They can appear anywhere on the body, from the hands to the face. Age spots are a constant reminder that our skin has seen better days.
